Overview

This guide provides an overview of setting up the Medical-Objects Download client to import into VIP software.

 

 

Installation and Configuration of Capricorn Software


  1. Download the latest Capricorn from the following link.

     
    http://download.medical-objects.com.au/
     
  2. The link on the download page looks like the following:



  3. The following window will appear:



  4. Click on Save.
     
  5. The following Save As window will appear. Save the Capricorn-Setup.exe in the directory C:\MO

     

    If the directory does not exist, Create it.

     



  6. Once you have clicked Save, the following download screens will appear


     
  7. After it has been downloaded, click Run. If a Security warning comes up again, Click Run Again. 



  8. Once you have clicked Run, the installation process starts.
  9. Click Next.



  10. Click Next.



  11. Click Install. 



  12. The following window will appear.



  13. The Setup wizard is now complete.



  14. Click Finish.

Registration Process


 

  1.  Once the setup is complete you will need to enter the Token or Serial key provided by the Medical-Objects help desk.

    The Token or Serial Key can be emailed to you. If you do not already have a token, Please contact the Medical-Objects help desk on (07) 5456 6000.




  2. From the email, copy the token and click the Paste Token link.
     

    This will automatically fill in the Registration Token for you.


     

  3. Click I Agree.

  4. The PGP Key Generation Window will then appear.



  5. Enter pgp in lowercase into both fields. Then click Next.

  6. The following window will appear.

     


  7. At this window you can just type anything to make the blue bar move to 100%, then click Next.

  8. The following window will appear.



  9. Click Finish.

     

    The main installation of the Medical-Objects Capricorn is now complete. The HL7 Tray icon will now be shown in the system tray located at the bottome right hand corner of the desktop.


Capricorn Configuration


  1. Double click the HL7 tray icon. 



    If the Capricorn HL7 tray icon is not visible, open Capricorn from Start Menu > All Programs > Medical-Objects > Medical Objects Capricorn or from the C:\MO\Capricorn\Capricorn.exe.

  2. The Log window is displayed.

  3. Click the Edit Server Properties icon.

  4. Click on Integration Options.


     
  5. Leave the ACK Management path as default, Which should be:

    C:\MO\Capricorn\APPLICATION_ACKS
  6. Select Server Parameters from the left panel.

  7. Under Message Output Directory (main), set the results import path to the drive the results are stored on.

    For Example: 
    Main Directory -  X:\Labs\MO


    By Default, Everything will be imported under the Medical-Objects contact explained later in this guide.
    However, If the site requires the files to show up as the Pathology/Radiology sender (i.e QHPS/SXR) you will need to set Message Source Exceptions  and divert those specific files to another path.

    Pathology -  X:\Labs\MO\QHPS

     

    Radiology -  X:\Labs\MO\SXR

     

  8. Select Message Src Exceptions from the left hand panel of the Capricorn configuration window.



  9. Click Add as shown above, and select Lookup Sending Facility HD. Do not use any other selection.



  10. A new window will appear called Select Identifier.


     
  11. Enter Southern and press Enter or click the Lightning Bolt to search.

  12. Select Southernex Imaging from the display panel.
  13. The following Message Source Exception window will appear.



  14. Click OK to leave all the details blank.

  15. Repeat this step for each of the Contacts that were setup in Practix (e.g. In this case QHPS (Nata 2639) and Southernex Imaging).


The configuration is complete. Click Apply and OK. 

 


Setup VIP to Import


 

  1. From top Menu, choose Patient, and then Search.

  2. Perform a search for your company, such as 'medical' to see if a contact currently exists for Medical-Objects.



  3. To create the contact, tick the 'New Organisation' box and choose search.



  4. Click 'New' button in bottom left hand corner of screen that appears.



  5. Put company name e.g 'Medical Objects' in the name section and choose role. e.g 'Laboratory'. Put short name - e.g 'MO' in the code box.



  6. Click the 'Investigations Provider Details' tab. for 'Receiving Directory' put in the path you set the Capricorn to output the files to. If you used a message source exception to direct certain Pathology/Radiology companies to a different folder, you will have to put this folder name for that contact. Be sure to choose the correct results format HL7 or Pit.



  7. Click OK. VIP should now pickup the files.
